2006 has to be the worst year I've ever had. The family has had to deal with the shocking news of my father having cancer. The last 2 weeks have been spent at the hospital and there isn't a more crushing sight than to see a man who has been active for 64 years of his life, lying in the bed, totally drained , unable to have the strength to even walk for 5 mins.
Amidst this crisis the Almighty seems to have given dad the inner strength to recover and live is life to the fullest (something we all feared that he would be lacking!). Luckily he seems to be havng a form of cancer (Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma) that responds very well to Chemotherapy and after his first dose of the same, he seems to be well on the road to recovery.
It was nonetheless heart warming to see so many people praying for his speedy recovery and it just goes to show what a good soul he has been throughout his life. Mom, seemed to be shattered intiially but being the rock of the family she is coping very well too!
I just want this goddamn year to pass by and hope that 2007 brings more cheer to the family.
